Trackball, joystick, and pointing stick.



Trackballs, joysticks, and pointing sticks are input devices. Also they are pointing devices. A trackball looks like a mouse turned upside down. The onscreen pointer moves in the direction of rotating the ball. It has the advantage of needing less desk space. A joystick looks like a car’s gearshift. The onscreen pointer moves in the direction of moving its stick. It is mainly used for playing computer games. Some keyboards, especially those of laptops, have a tiny stick. The onscreen pointer moves in the direction of pushing the stick.
